  • This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Tabernacle Choir’s performance at the Hollywood Bowl in California. To commemorate this occasion, the Tabernacle Choir is presenting a special concert featuring Donny Osmond, with proceeds supporting selected trusted charities. Stakes from Idaho Falls, Ammon, Shelley, and Firth will gather on Saturday, June 27th, at the Mountain America Center for a Watch Party. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
    The broadcast begins at 6:30 p.m. See more below.
  • The United States will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence throughout 2026. A new video will be available on ChurchofJesusChrist.org. All wards and branches in the United States are invited to use this video during a fifth-Sunday meeting on May 31. Additionally, on Sunday, July 5, 2026, all are invited to participate in a unified fast to express gratitude for religious liberty and to pray that it be strengthened throughout the world.
  • The Ammon Stake Sunday School Presidency is pleased to announce an Old Testament study course for anyone interested in deepening their understanding the scriptures. This weekly class will follow the Come Follow Me schedule and use a discussion-based format led by Randy Taylor from the 8th Ward. Meetings will be held Wednesday evenings at 7PM in the Stake Center Relief Society room. For more information, see here.

100th anniversary tabernacle watch party

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Tabernacle Choir’s performance at the Hollywood Bowl in California. To commemorate this occasion, the Tabernacle Choir is presenting a special concert featuring Donny Osmond, with proceeds supporting selected trusted charities. Stakes from Idaho Falls, Ammon, Shelley, and Firth will gather on Saturday, June 27th, at the Mountain America Center for a Watch Party.Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
The broadcast begins at 6:30 p.m. This free community event will support two local charities:
• Champs Heart
• People In Need Coalition
Concessions will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting these charities. Direct donations will also be accepted.

250th anniversary-declaration of independence

​The United States will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence
throughout 2026. A new video will be available on ChurchofJesusChrist.org in which President D. Todd
Christofferson and Elder Quentin L. Cook will offer instruction about the significance of the Declaration of
Independence, the Constitution, and related events that enabled the Restoration of the Church. All wards and
branches in the United States are invited to use this video during a fifth-Sunday meeting on May 31 to discuss
the importance of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and how these documents support
religious freedom and our God-given agency.
Additionally, on Sunday, July 5, 2026, all are invited to participate in a unified fast to express gratitude for
religious liberty and to pray that it be strengthened throughout the world.

Old Testament Study Course

The Ammon Stake Sunday School Presidency is pleased to announce an Old Testament study course for anyone interested in deepening their understanding the scriptures. This weekly class will follow the Come Follow Me schedule and use a discussion-based format led by Randy Taylor from the 8th Ward.
The class will use the institute religion manuals as the primary resource, available in the Gospel Library. Meetings will be held Wednesday evenings at 7PM in the Stake Center Relief Society room, beginning February 4, 2026. Each class will last approximately 90 minutes.

Board Game Night

In a joint effort, the Elders Quorum and Relief Society will be hosting a board game night on the 4th Friday at 7PM each month. Babysitting is not provided. We will meet in the Relief Society room and talk and game. If you just want to socialize, that's okay too! Bring a game, a spouse, a friend, or just come alone--we'll be happy to include you. Ward Choir

Choir practice is held in the Chapel at 2:00 PM in 2026. Come and join us for fun, friendship, and spiritual growth as we unite our voices in worship of our Lord, Jesus Christ. 

Lasting and abiding blessings will be yours as your heart and mind are touched by the spirit through music. As the songs repeat in your mind, the strengthening power of music will lift you up long after choir practice is over.

Share Ward Temple Names

Join the Ammon Fifth Ward Group on FamilySearch to share temple names with others in the ward. Add ten or fewer names at a time to the pool of names available for others to take to the temple. Ward family history and temple days

Ward Temple days are the 2nd Thursday of every month. Ward Family History days at the Family History Center are the Saturday before our Ward Temple Day, so they may change depending on the month. This is to allow you to gather names to take to the temple. Below are the upcoming Ward Temple and Family History days. Please note: dates are subject to change. (FHC is the Family History Center).
Sat. May 9th, FHC
Thurs. May 14th, Temple Day
Sat. June 6th, FHC
Thurs. June 11th, Temple Day
July FHC will change due to the 4th of July

Idaho Falls Temple Visitor Center

The Idaho Falls Temple Visitor Center is open from 9 AM to 9 PM daily. Please make an appointment for youth groups of 10 or more. Bring your friends and neighbors to learn why we build and attend temples.
The Idaho Falls Visitor Center also has story time every Tuesday and Thursday at 10AM.

Temple Recommend Interviews

The 5th ward bishopric does walk-in temple recommend Interviews on Fast Sundays and third Sundays after the block. No appointment is necessary. If you need a temple recommend interview at another time, please contact John Van Dyck to schedule an appointment.
The stake presidency does walk-in temple recommend interviews on Fast Sundays and the third Sundays of the month from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Stake offices.

  • Ward Family History Day, at the Family History Center is on the first Saturday of the month. Please mark these dates on your calendar.
  • Ward Temple Day is the second Thursday of each month. Please mark these dates on your calendars.
  • The Temple and Family History Question for January 2026 is: Have you met the robot at the Family History Center? This robot can provide great, fun help for family history researchers, young and older.
  • The Ward Family History Committee is anxious to assist all. For help with you, your family, or group research, please contact us. We are listed in TOOLS under organizations.
